High Arnold,
as far as I know, it ist not possible to increase the gross vehicle weight (maximum weight of the RV) to 4T or more in combination with the light chassis. You need the heavy chassis to upgrade to 4,2T oder 4,5T.
Kind regards
Thanks Thomas,
here in Italy it is quite common to talk about what you can do there in germany using the TUV and in particular, what can do in gross vehicle weight using some thecnical system for increase the maximum weight for single axle.
For example, my max rear axle weight is 2t, but this weight can be increase if I install approved additional air suspension (in my case I have installed goldschmitt air system at the rear axle and goldschmitt reinforced spring at front axle , at the same time I have change the wheel and tires with other of greater load capacity)
We are convinced that whit this modification in Germany is possible to increase the gross weight, it is not correct?

Hi,
Yes, it is possible to increase the gros weight to more than 3.5 T, but the limit for the Light Chassis is 3.65 or 3.85 T, as far as I know. That depends on the Type of the Chassis.
To increase to 4 T and more you need the Heavy Chassis.
Just ask Carsten Stäbler, bis Company is specialised to this Kind of work

Hi Arnold
As far as in know, it is possible to increase the Light-Chassis to 4 tons...i find the information that Goldschmitt does this. If it works with your RV?? I don't know, i think you
should send a mail to Goldschmitt with your VIN and more information about your RV.
Some more information you can find in this file from Goldschmitt and on the following website
