squeak from sliding door
While driving on roads with slightly uneven surfaces I notice there is a squeak from the sliding side door of our Malibu. I have tried a few options to prevent this like cleaning the rubber seal on the door with silicone spray, driving with the blinds in different positions up, down and the insect mesh pulled down, all to no avail. The squeak gets considerably less on smooth roads like motorways,
Has anyone else had this problem?

Re: squeak from sliding door
hello, I think I know the noise. A piece of tape or rubber might help, pinch this to the back of the top closet and the mosquito net in between. There, the frame of the net rubs against the cupboard and produces a terrible noise ....
Hope i could help

HI von Maliubufahrer2016
Sorry for only getting back to you now, but I took the camper out for a drive earlier today and the squeak is gone!
I had places a short section of soft draft seal rubber between the insect net frame and the top storage press.
It "d" shaped in section and has peel off adhesive on the long side.
thanks again for the tip
regards dermot

Re: squeak from sliding door
I’m heading away in the camper for the weekend and will take a picture if the squeak remains silent and post my solution, as I will be in west Connemara famous for unevan roads but nice deserted beaches

Re: squeak from sliding door
Hi
This is not good news! On our return drive home from a nice weekend the squeak returned. So in one way I’m back to the drawing board but I’m still convinced it comes from the same place.
Perhaps the rubber seal I used is not strong enough to eliminate the friction so I might explore other materials. Using a nylon or PTFE based material.
I was able to replicate the squeak by holding the press over the cooker/sink and pushing it up and down, and there it was that “sound”
I have only pushed something between the mesh drone and the press, perhaps lightly sanding the wood from the press frame and introducing a bit of clearance may work.
I will keep going though, and hope for some ideas from the forum
